Mental Health Clinician – Burdekin Community Mental Health Service

Townsville Hospital and Health Service is seeking a passionate Psychologist to join the Burdekin Community Mental Health Service. This is your chance to make a meaningful impact in a regional setting while enjoying the lifestyle benefits of North Queensland. 

You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering expert mental health and alcohol and drug interventions to individuals and families across the lifespan. This is a rewarding opportunity to work in a supportive, community-focused environment with strong professional development pathways. 

 

As a Mental Health Clinician, you will: 

  • Provide comprehensive intake, assessment, care planning, intervention, and groupwork services. 
  • Deliver evidence-based mental health and ATODS interventions across the lifespan. 
  • Collaborate with other service providers to ensure continuity of care. 
  • Participate in crisis management and intervention as required. 
  • Contribute to quality improvement and service development initiatives.

What You’ll Need 

  • Tertiary qualification in Psychology and registration with AHPRA 
  • Current Class C driver’s licence 
  • This is a?Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role?– Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and Tuberculosis 
  • Pre-employment checks including criminal history clearance 
  • Experience in rural or remote mental health settings is highly regarded
