CYMHS in Tasmanian is undergoing Reform with the exciting development and implementation of new teams working across the state to improve the mental health outcomes of young people and their support systems.
There are 2 positions available, one in the South based in Hobart and one in the North/Northwest. The sucessful applicant can be based in either the North or Northwest office but please note travel will be required between locations.
The Role:
The Practice Improvement Practitioner is a new role with scope to work across a variety of existing CYMHS programs delivering high-quality practice development and education for CYMHS clinicians. The role is part of a small unit based within the CYMHS Extended Programs, which include Out-of-Home Care Mental Health, Youth Forensic Mental Health, Youth Mental Health, and the community CYMHS teams.
In the role of Practice Improvement Practitioner you will:
Provide specialist advice and planning in the development, implementation and evaluation of workforce education and training initiatives, within the Child and Youth Mental Health Service.
Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to meet the education needs of clinicians and collaborates as part of the broader CYMHS Education and Operational teams by supporting, leading and contributing to education programs and organisational initiatives across CYMHS.

Details of appointment:
Permanent full time day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $123,717 to $134,336 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022
Salary Packaging:
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

- Please note that access to salaries beyond $130,900 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum

- Office based in Launceston CBD.

Southern Tasmania
- Office based in Hobart City Centre
