Apply your knowledge and contribute to a quality system of compensation for veterans.

The Specialist Medical Review Council (SMRC) is seeking experts in Neuropsychology and Neurosurgery with at least 10 years’ experience who wish to apply their knowledge and contribute to a quality system of compensation for veterans.

Experts in the fields of Neuropsychology and Neurosurgery, if successful, would be appointed as part-time councillors to the SMRC.

Minimum requirements:

• Australian Citizen or dual Citizen
• 10 years’ experience in the fields of Neuropsychology and Neurosurgery as a registered medical practitioner or medical scientist.
• Demonstrated skills and experience in critically assessing scientific evidence in their respective specialist field.

The SMRC is a statutory body under the Veterans’ Entitlements Act 1986. It reviews decisions of the Repatriation Medical Authority in relation to Statements of Principles.

The SMRC works with Councillors according to their availability to participate in a review.
