About the Role
Join the South Australian Brain Injury Rehabilitation Services (SA BIRS) in a pivotal role shaping psychology services for people with an acquired brain injury. Whether stepping in as an Advanced Clinician (AHP4), a recognised psychology expert in brain injury, or as an experienced Senior Clinical/Health Psychologist (AHP3), you will lead care, guide clinicians and build strong partnerships across our statewide network.
- Plan and deliver goal-based psychology care for complex clients admitted to the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Unit
- Provide professional leadership and clinical governance for psychology services across SA BIRS (at AHP4)
- Supervise and support AHP2 staff, students and (at AHP4) AHP3 clinicians
- Drive innovation, enhance service delivery and implement quality improvement initiatives
- Strengthen ties with medical, nursing, allied health and external agencies
- Develop consultancy networks and provide expert advice on complex cases
The position is available as either AHP4 0.9FTE or AHP3 1.0FTE, dependant on the skills and experience of the preferred applicant.
About You
You are an experienced psychologist committed to client-centred care and clinical excellence. Whether you are applying your brain injury expertise to lead service-wide psychology practice as an Advanced Clinician (AHP4) or guiding complex cases as a Senior Psychologist (AHP3), you bring strong clinical judgement, leadership and collaboration skills.
• Hold general psychology registration with clinical or health endorsement
• Hold approved supervisor status at all PBA levels
• Apply evidence-based practice for complex client care
• Lead teams and foster collaboration across disciplines
• Guide and provide supervision to staff, students, and (at AHP4) Senior Psychologists

- Psychologists employed as an AHP who hold an Area of Practice Endorsement are eligible for an allowance ranging from $8,359.40 per annum up to $15,293.30 per annum depending on their classification level, payable in lieu of the Additional Qualification Allowance.
