Difference in Rural and Remote Mental Health
The Rural and
Remote Mental Health Program provides specialist mental health and alcohol and
drug services to communities within the Townsville Hospital and Health Service
area. These services are coordinated through four community mental health teams located in
Palm Island, Ingham, Burdekin, and Charters Towers.
This employment
opportunity is based at the Burdekin Community Mental Health Service at Ayr
Hospital, where you’ll join a multidisciplinary team delivering
clinical assessment and evidence based interventions to support
individuals, families, and carers across the lifespan.
In this role
you will
- Provide intake, assessment, care planning, and
therapeutic interventions across the lifespan.
- Deliver evidence-based care for people
experiencing complex mental health and/or alcohol and drug use
challenges.
- Collaborate with families, carers, and other
service providers to ensure holistic support.
- Access supportive supervision and professional
development to strengthen your clinical expertise.

What You’ll Need
- Four-year Psychology degree (Honours or Graduate
Diploma)
- Class “C” motor vehicle licence
