About the Role 

This position provides Clinical Leadership of the Psychology and Allied health team within the Developmental Paediatric Clinic, an interdisciplinary, tertiary-level service dedicated to the assessment of complex neurodevelopmental conditions (including neurological and genetic conditions) in children and young people from birth to 18 years of age. 

This is a Grade 4 Psychology position. Grade 4 Psychology positions are highly experienced psychologist who have an area of practice endorsement and are board approved supervisors. They have demonstrated high level knowledge and skills such that they maintain the standards through developing policy, monitoring and improving performance in others and driving education.  

The specific focus of the position is to provide evidence-based psychological services to patients with neurodevelopmental differences in the domains of social-communication, cognition, intellectual function, and emotional and behavioural regulation, in addition to difficulties in academic and/or adaptive functioning. These concerns typically arise in the context of suspected neurodevelopmental conditions such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Intellectual Disability (ID), Specific Learning Disorders (SLD), and Communication Disorders (CD). Patients also present with co-occurring challenges such as anxiety, sleep disturbances, and feeding difficulties, alongside complex psychosocial factors influencing their overall functioning. 

About You

Some technical skills, knowledge and experience required of the successful applicant includes (but not limited to):  

• Expert knowledge of the methods, principles and practices of providing evidence-based, best practice assessment, formulation, intervention and evaluation of children and young people with neurodevelopmental conditions. 
• Training and experience in psychological assessments tools in the paediatric context including the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2), Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC-V), Wechsler Individual Achievement Test (WIAT-III), Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence (WPPSI-IV), Vineland Adaptive Behaviour Scales (VABS-3), Behaviour Assessment System for Children (BASC-3) and Child Behaviour Checklist (CBCL).
