About Maroubra Psychology

Maroubra Psychology is an established and thriving practice in the heart of Sydney’s Eastern beaches area. Due to our ongoing referral demand we invite Clinical Psychologist and Psychologists, at any stage of their career, who value high quality clinical work, professional autonomy, and being part of a cohesive but diverse team, to join us. Maroubra Psychology is run by Directors Karen Duncan and Ryan Kaplan, who have a wealth of clinical and management experience in the public and private sector and who are passionate about supporting their professionals and people who consult with them, with opportunity to be their best selves.

The Role

If you are a registered Psychologist or Clinical Psychologist, we currently have an opportunity for you to join our growing team as an Employee or Contractor, 2+ days per week. We have a burnout-prevention approach to caseload management, which includes a sustainable and diverse caseload, a focus on taking regular time-off, no appointments booked outside of your allocated hours and caseload monitoring to ensure caseload balance of mild to severe presentations.

You are a Psychologist who values ethics, reflective practice, quality care, professional and personal growth and development, and who embraces diversity.

Essential Criteria

• Able to work autonomously within a supportive team environment
• Excellent written + oral communication skills
• Professional, willing, flexible, open, collaborative, + committed attitude
• A warm, friendly, helpful, caring approach to go the extra mile
• Able to develop and foster relationships with referrers
• Skilled and experienced (OR commitment to becoming so) beyond CBT and ACT with modalities such as: DBT, IFS, Schema Therapy, EMDR, Compassion Focused Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Play Therapy, Family Therapy, Relationship Therapy, or other evidence-based therapies

Desirable Criteria

• After hours availability for at least 2 sessions per week or able to work Saturdays
• Workcover approved (or willingness to become approved)
• Experience working with children, adolescents or couples and families
• Experience and skilled at ADHD and/or ASD assessment and treatment
• Ability to work with a trauma lens
• Interest in working towards becoming a full-time staff member and/or a Principal Psychologist with Maroubra Psychology
