Private Practice Psychologist (Contractor) – Professionals, Men’s Mental Health

Elevate Psychology Group is a private psychology practice with sites located in Burwood and Cheltenham. We are seeking a psychologist with aligned interests and experience to join us as an independent contractor at our Bayside, Cheltenham location.

Here at Elevate Psychology, we are a group of passionate, dedicated and friendly psychologists and administrative staff, and are well integrated within a network of exceptional partner GP practices (Elevate Medical, Bayside Family Medical and Bluff Road Medical). Our Cheltenham rooms are co-located within Bayside Family Medical, enabling true collaborative and holistic care for our clients and opportunities to build your GP network.

We are seeking a psychologist to complement our diverse team, and are looking for someone who is comfortable with, and passionate about, working with professionals and men’s mental health. Our clients are often high performers (work/study), business owners, professionals and local parents seeking support with:

·       Depression, anxiety and related

·       Relationship difficulties (romantic and marital relationships)

·       Family challenges (new parents, relationships with children/teens, ageing parents) 

·       Work and performance challenges

·       Life transitions (career, retirement, loss, parenthood)

A strong interest in formulation and considered treatment planning is highly valued.  Experience with high performers with ADHD/ASD and/or experience with Binge Eating Disorder also highly valued.

There is also the option to diversify your practice and conduct psychological assessments, offer group psychology programs, work also with children & adolescents, or provide couples psychology if these areas align with your skills and interest.

What We’re Looking For

Background, registration & experience:

·       Full registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA

·       Minimum of 4 years’ experience working as a psychologist; experience in private practice highly valued. If you have < 4 years’ experience but have experience working within corporate, consulting or small business environments please also apply

·       Demonstrated expertise in delivering evidence-based interventions

·       Experience working with target populations (professionals, men)

·       Medicare Provider Number (or eligibility), GST registered, operate under own ABN, Professional Indemnity & Public Liability Insurance, and Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain; for those working with children and adolescents).

Personal skills & approach:

·       A commitment to clinical excellence, ongoing professional growth, and making a meaningful impact in the lives of our clients

·       An interest in collaborative, integrative care and a willingness and comfort working closely with our GP referrers

·       Interest in being part of a community of practice with other psychologists e.g. peer supervision.
