About the Job?
We
are looking to employ an experienced, passionate and talented Psychologist to
provide assessment and psychological services to students in pre-school,
primary and/or high school. The position may include morning, daytime and after
school hours and will commence in January or February, 2024.
Key
Responsibilities
- Conduct and score psychological assessments, inclduing diagnostic assessments for Specific Learning Disorders, ADHD and Autism.
- Write up psychological reports and provide feedback to clients.
- Use evidence-based counselling techniques with children, adults and families.
- Conduct observations of children at school or pre-school as required to formulate assessment or management plans.
- Develop and implement group programs in areas of interest and support the marketing and administration to assist with the set up and running of the programs.
- Participate in training, peer supervision and ongoing development.
- Deliver intervention programs for students to build their executive functioning, organisation and study skills.
- Work with families to support parenting and advocacy for school and within the community.
Your role may also include the following:
- Develop and delivery intervention programs to children behind in academic skills.
- Apply positive behavioural strategies to motivate, engage and manage students.
- Conduct one to one assessments to evaluate a student's progress
- Participate in training and ongoing professional development
Essential
Criteria
- Full Registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA
- Experience in administration of cognitive, academic and other standardised testing
- Demonstrated proficient oral and written language skills
- Experience in counselling children
- Strong report writing skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development in the field of child development and learning difficulties
- Ability to work well individually and as part of a team
· Desirable
Criteria
- Endorsement as an Educational and Developmental or Clinical Psychologist
- Experience in education as a teacher, school counsellor or educator
- Registration as a Board Approved Supervisor
- Experience in supervising other psychologists
- Valid Australian Driver's License
- Knowledge of assessment for Specific Learning Disorders
- Experience in diagnostic assessments of ADHD and Autism
