Lead Psychologist

Location:  Brisbane

Remuneration: $147,769 to $156,144 per annum

 

·         Fixed term temporary full-time

The Lead Psychologist, will enhance community safety through the development of a service delivery model for countering violent extremism

·         Develop and implement a service delivery model, including the referral, assessment, intervention and management of VE offenders charged or convicted of terrorism offences; 

·         Provide psychological service delivery for complex VE cases including:

·         Manage, supervise and lead a clinical team responsible for assessment, intervention and management of VE offenders;  

·         Provide advanced leadership in the delivery of high-quality clinical services to assist in developing, formulation, management, and engagement strategies for offenders in the VE cohort;

·         Oversight the development, implementation, and delivery of individual intervention for VE offenders;  

·         Ensure professional clinical standards within the CVEU including providing advance level clinical advice, oversight and practice

·         Supervision to psychologists and practitioners providing VE services;

·         Develop and implement professional development for CVEU psychologists and practitioners;

·         Oversight staff compliance with relevant legislation, policy and service operating procedures (SOPs);

·         Lead the development and implementation of policies, processes, and quality assurance systems to monitor the performance and effectiveness of unit services to contribute to continuous improvement;

·         Provide advanced level judgement and decision making in the management of a complex cohort across multiple settings, involving consultation and liaison to all relevant stakeholders to deliver an effective state-wide service;

·         Contribute to the development of service operating procedures (SOPs) for the CVEU service delivery model;  

·         Prepare strategic advice and ministerial and executive correspondence ensuring accuracy and timelines are met;

·         Provide high level expert psychological and behavioural advice to the QCS executive group and criminal justice partners on issues related to forensic risk, intervention, and management of the VE cohort;
